Support Stoneshollow Solar Farm. Make a difference.

If approved, Stoneshollow Solar Farm will greatly support our fight against climate change by saving over 56,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum, and generating enough clean renewable energy to meet the needs of over 22,000 homes.

Plans for Stoneshollow Solar Farm have now been submitted to Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, and your support could make the difference as to whether they are approved.

Our plans will benefit both the environment, and the local community by:

  • Generating enough clean green electricity for over 22,000 homes every year.
  • Saving over 56,000 tonnes of CO2 every year compared to generation from fossil fuels – that equates to over 2.2 million tonnes over its lifetime.
  • Improving opportunities for local wildlife and achieving a biodiversity net gain of over 92% – 9x the standard.
  • Planting/enhancing over 3.8km of hedgerow and trees, as well as create of over 19 acres of wildflower meadow.
  • Protecting and enhancing the footpaths around the site, in addition to creating 2.6km of new permissive paths for residents.
  • Planting 150 black poplar trees, making the site home to the largest population of the most endangered native UK timber species in the world.
  • Installing beehives, over 40 bird/bat boxes, log piles, reptile hibernacula, and insect hotels around the site.
  • Creating an outdoor classroom for the local school/community groups to use.
